# FDA承認済みで食品安全とされる材料はありません

現時点では、いかなる3Dプリント材料がFDAの食品安全認証を受けていることを裏付けるデータはありません。実際、市場にあるどの3Dプリント材料もFDAの食品安全認証を取得していません。これは、食品安全の認証が原材料だけでなく、最終的に印刷された対象物そのものにも適用されるためです。対象物の形状、使用されるビルドプレートの種類、印刷環境、製造プロセス全体などの要因が、その対象物が食品安全と見なされるかどうかに影響します。現時点でFDAは3Dプリント材料に特化した特定の認証を提供していません。

フィラメント材料自体が食品安全とみなされる場合でも、3D印刷プロセスは通常その安全性を損ないます。溶融積層造形（Fused Filament Fabrication）の層状構造は、層間に微小な隙間や溝を生じさせ、そこに細菌や汚染物質が入り込みやすくなります。これらの微小な空間は徹底的な洗浄を非常に困難にするため、対象物が一度きりの使用では安全であっても、繰り返し食品と接触させる場合に確実に消毒することは難しくなります。さらに、印刷に真ちゅう（ブラス）ノズルを使用すると別の安全上の懸念が生じます。真ちゅうには鉛が含まれており、印刷工程中に微量の鉛がプリント表面に移行する可能性があります。この汚染により、印刷部品は食品用途には安全でない可能性があります。これらの要因—材料、プロセス、機器を含む—のため、食品関連用途を検討する際には3Dプリントされた物を慎重に扱うことが重要であり、安全性を確保するために追加の後処理、封止、または認証が必要となることが多いです。
