# 출력 방향은 강도에 영향을 준다

출력 방향을 정할 때는 보통 오버행 품질을 좋게 하거나 서포트 양을 줄이는 데 먼저 집중합니다.

이것도 중요하지만, 출력 방향을 고를 때 절대 빼놓으면 안 되는 요소가 하나 더 있습니다.

바로 **강도**입니다.

3D 출력물은 레이어를 한 층씩 쌓아 만들기 때문에, 보통 가장 약한 방향은 레이어에 수직인 **Z축 방향**입니다.

즉, 층 사이를 따라 깨지거나 벌어질 가능성이 더 큽니다.

그래서 하중을 받아야 하는 부품을 출력할 때는, 단순히 출력 단계에서만이 아니라 설계 단계부터 방향을 함께 고려해야 합니다.

가장 큰 응력이 **X축이나 Y축**, 즉 레이어와 평행한 방향으로 걸리도록 배치하면 내구성과 성능을 크게 높일 수 있습니다.

출력 방향을 처음부터 설계에 반영하면, 최종 부품이 기능 요구와 강도 요구를 함께 만족하기 쉬워집니다.
